Safety First

In partnership with other NPHC sororities at Emory, the chapter hosted this event to raise awareness about human and sex trafficking. The event featured a discussion led by a human and sex trafficking expert as well as a self-defense workshop where attendees learned defense moves to help them get out of dangerous situations. Ultimately, this event was intended to engage all aspects of women’s safety and empowerment.

ReDiscover HER Light 5K Run+Walk

The Omicron Xi Chapter supported the Starr Institute’s FIRST ReDiscover HER Light 5K Run + Walk. Participation in this event supported girls who were survivors of domestic sex trafficking. All proceeds from this event were donated directly to The Starr Institute, Inc. whose mission is to empower girls who have survived sexual abuse to lead fulfilling lives by creating an environment that renews, reeducates, and redirects the mind, body, and soul which encourages health, and fosters wholeness.
